Overview

German
Development Cooperation (GIZ) supports the East African Community (EAC) through projects on regional economic development, health, higher-education and digital transformation as well as nature-based solutions. To facilitate coherent project implementation and effective as well as efficient processes it established GIZ EAC regional cluster to further collaboration between involved regional projects, GIZ country offices with the eight EAC partner states as well as with Senior Management of East Africa Community Secretariat and its  organs. GIZ EAC cluster is seeking to recruit Digitalization advisor to GIZ EAC Cluster Management based in Arusha (Tanzania).

The position will support the GIZ EAC Cluster Management, consisting of project-managers and cluster coordinator in close collaboration with GIZ Country Office TZ/EAC and GIZ HQ, to further (1) implement the SAP S4HANAH roll-out at GIZ EAC cluster with suitable advice and trainings for all staff, (2) ensure  hardware and software is operational, maintained according to GIZ standards and furthered to the needs  of projects and (3) implement IT security standards with appropriate infrastructure measures according to GIZ standards. Responsibilities

Implementation of ERP system & IT security

  • Facilitates the SAP S4HANAH
    roll-out at GIZ EAC cluster with suitable advice to Cluster Management
    team and staff-members
  • Implements trainings for all
    staff-members on SAP S4HANAH requirements and its day-to-day
    implementation with Country Offices across the region
  • Supports the development and
    implementation of IT requirements to facilitate the external collaboration
    as regional Service Unit with Country Offices across the region
  • Implements IT security standards with
    appropriate infrastructure measures according to GIZ standards

Hardware and Software Management

  • Facilitates and maintains the IT hardware network
    systems, according to GIZ standards, with consultants and external
    expertise
  • Ensures maintenance of servers, laptops and PCs
    as well as accompanying digital technology hardware and facilitates
    procurement processes
  • Implements, maintains and configuration of all
    standard GIZ software (e.g. SAP, APS, AMS, PACCS) with regular security
    updates and backup
  • Advice management on IT system implementation and
    development of IT-based solutions for the EAC Community and its
    institutions
  • Liaison with IT professionals in GIZ Country
    Office and HQ
